Can I take photographs?

Yes. You are very welcome to take photographs during the performance, but please do not use flash photography, as this can be distracting to the performers and other audience members.

Can I film the performance?

No. Filming or recording the performance is not permitted.

Question 4

Can I use my phone during the performance?

Accepted Answer

Please switch your phone to silent before the performance begins and avoid using it during the show.Bright screens, notifications and phone calls can be very distracting to the performers and other audience members.

What if I need to leave during the performance?

Accepted Answer

If you need to leave the audience area during the performance, please do so as quietly as possible and try to avoid disturbing other audience members.You may return when you are ready, although depending on the venue and what is happening on stage, you may need to wait briefly for a suitable opportunity to return to your place.

Is there a bar or refreshments?

Refreshment arrangements vary at our open-air venues. At some performances, refreshments may be available from the venue or a local organisation, but this cannot be guaranteed.You are very welcome to bring your own food and drink to our open-air performances.Our Little Big Top has a bar, and drinks purchased elsewhere may not be brought inside.

Can I smoke or vape during the performance?

Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere within the theatre site. Many of our performances take place in rural locations where dry grass and vegetation can present a serious fire risk, so we need to be particularly mindful of the danger of wildfires.Please do not vape within the audience or performance areas. If you wish to vape, please move well away from these areas and be considerate of others.BBQs, camping stoves, candles and other naked flames are also strictly prohibited on the theatre site.

What happens at the end of the performance?

At the end of the performance, please take all of your belongings and rubbish with you and leave the site as you found it.At our open-air venues, floodlighting is provided in the immediate audience area to help you pack up and leave safely. However, many of our performances take place in rural locations and the route back to your car may be dimly lit.We therefore recommend bringing a phone or small torch to help you find your way after dark.

Can I meet the cast after the show?

Yes. Our actors are often around after the performance and you're very welcome to come and say hello.However, please do not enter or approach the backstage tent immediately after the performance. This is a private area and members of the company will be changing and getting ready to pack away.If you would like to meet the cast, please wait around 10 minutes before coming round to the backstage area. By then, members of the company will usually be out and about and will be very happy to say hello.Please bear in mind that we have a considerable amount of equipment to pack away each night, so we can't guarantee that everyone will always be available.

Can I buy programmes or merchandise at the show?

Yes. Programmes and a selection of Rudes merchandise are normally available from our Front of House area.Availability can vary, and some items may sell out during the tour.
